“Nachamu” is a video that focuses on a newly formed Western Massachusetts collective by the same name. The word “nachuma,” which translates to “comfort” or “consolation” from Hebrew, is a community Chevra kadisha specifically serving queer, trans, and gender-nonconforming people. This video is narrated by a founding member of the collective. Imagery focuses on key tenets of Jewish burial, especially an emphasis on water, wood, and a return to nature.
